Cycle ride raises funds for Stafford Rangers disabled facilities

Cycle ride raises funds for Stafford Rangers disabled facilities

Ellie Simmonds, the double Paralympics gold medallist, started a charity cycle ride in Stafford on 27th September.

Stafford Rangers FC organised the ride to raise funds to improve disabled facilities at the football club.

Jeremy Lefroy, who was one of the 70 cyclists who took part in the ride, said: "This is a good move by the club. I am pleased that Jon Downing, the Chairman, is hoping to stage a ride like this every year in aid of a local charity.

"It was also an honour to meet Ellie Simmonds. I wish her well for the European Championships."

(The picture shows Jeremy with Cllr Mark Winngton, Staffordshire County Council cabinet member for resources who also took part).
