Stafford Borough Forces Memorial Fund

Stafford Borough Forces Memorial Fund

A group of people in Stafford Borough, led by Councillors John Francis and Ivan Jennings, is raising money for a Stafford Borough Forces Memorial.

Stafford, with its large MoD base which is set to expand substantially in the coming years, has a proud tradition of hosting and supporting our armed forces.

With the support of SSAFA, the Royal British Legion, Stafford Borough Council and others, the group wishes to see an appropriate memorial contsructed for all those who have laid down their lives for our country in recent wars in which the United Kingdom has been involved.

We need to raise £25,000 to design and build the memorial. The first fundraiser is happening now and over the next few days. Several of us, including a number of cadets, are attempting to run, cycle or swim 3700 miles which is the distance between Stafford and Afghanistan.

More details of the fund and how to support us are available from ivanjenningscouk@yahoo.co.uk or from me on jeremy.lefroy@btinternet.com.
